Our very own Beauty Marketing Manager, Barb Alviar, is becoming quite the regular on a local talk show, WZZM's Take 5 Grand Rapids. Just this morning she was invited to share some special secrets for waking your beauty routine from it's winter hibernation using easy solutions from Artistry!

Barb highlighted the following easy-to-follow tips you can do in minutes from home:

  • Spring air packs more moisture and humidity than winter air, opt for lighter lotions instead of heavy creams.
  • Stay protected from the sun and other harmful environmental elements by applying an SPF daily.
  • Stick with a three-step skin care system that offers a cleanser, toner, & moisturizer (like Artistry!)
  • Treat rough skin areas (elbows & knees) with a dose of good ol' fashioned vaseline and a pair of cotton socks.
  • Buff away dry sleepy skin with a gentle polishing scrub like Artistry essentials and follow up with a moisturizing masque.
  • Lighten up your look with soft powders in subtle shades (like earthtones) for a natural, gorgeous finish.
Watch Barb in action here -- and don't forget to let me know how your beauty spring cleaning is going!

i would like to express my disappointment in the fact that there will be no Spring 2009 colour collection as advertised on artistry.com's Spring trend report. As a makeup artist, I am also disappointed in the makeup job done to showcase the new Custom Colour collection in the new catalog. For example, why is it that for the African American woman's makeup - one eye is so apparently bigger than the other. A professional review would not have let that pass through to publication. You've already cut products, why sacrifice quality as well? It is offensive considering how beautiful the makeup was displayed in all our previous marketing materials. As I mentioned before on a previous post, how can we be partnering with NEXT and sponsoring fashion shows with a reduction in the quality of our work and product line? Why should the rest of the world be privy to the latest trends while n. america gets scraps? I understand that you are cutting products and costs in order to increase profits to all IBOs, but please don't sacrifice quality along with it. Artistry is one of the flagship brands of this business, let's not ruin its reputation now that we'r just gaining unprecedented visibility and momentum, especially in the fashion industry. i really wish someone could address these concerns publicly instead of it being ignored. this is probably one of the reasons why i've decreased my postings on OZ.

editors note: Hi e. rod. - Thank you for sharing your concerns. I have forwarded your comments to our beauty marketing team and hope to get you some answers quickly!
